Fulfillment of prophecy - are we there yet?

Updated: 2 days ago

Many are Anxiously awaiting the fulfillment of prophecy, Expecting, anticipating or hoping that they will witness the fulfillment in the flesh.

Why is this so?

Among the challenges that such believers face is Waning of enthusiasm, when hopes or wishes are not met.

They also have to overcome the doubters and derision of nonbelievers, when expected fulfillments do not occur in the time frame expected, or in the nature expected.

Could it also be because we need evidence to satisfy our own unspoken doubts within? Or because we need something with which to show those doubters?

Perhaps both

Many believers can be compared to children who constantly ask during a long journey, "Are we there yet?".

Some children become exhausted from anticipation and fall asleep, expecting to be woken when they finally arrive at the destination, or get there.

Only a few children recognize that the journey is also part of the trip, during which they get to observe and learn much from the passing scenes.

In a similar way, the road to the fulfillment of prophecy is a long journey that is full of changing scenes and experiencing.

Each scene contains many learning opportunities to prepare us for when we finally arrive at the destination (i.e. the fulfillment time)

If we are too focused on wondering when the fulfillment will occur, we become like children who are asking "Are we there yet?", and learn nothing from the passing scenes.

Worse is that we could get tired of waiting, and no longer pay attention, or no longer believe in prophecy.

We then become like those children who tire and go to sleep. Except that in this case, the sleeper will not be woken when Earth arrives at the destination.

Perhaps the parable of the ten virgins Matthew 25: 1‐13 will illustrate the point being made here.

This is the parable that Jesus told about ten young women who were awaiting a bridegroom's arrival at night. Five of them were well prepared and they awaited him with their jar filled with oil. Five others were not prepared, and did not have enough oil in their jars. So they left to get some refill. The bridegroom arrived when the negligent five had left. The five prepared women were invited to join and left with the bridal party. Those who were not prepared and had gone to find oil

for their jars were left behind and could not join the party.

The bride groom in this parable represents the bringer of Truth or the Truth that is brought to mankind. The lamp with oil is the living intuition that is required to see the bridegroom/Truth. The five women who left to refill their lamp represent human beings who, though expecting fulfillment (i.e. yearn for a change), are not keeping their intuition fully alive and burning. They are seeking in the wrong direction. For example pursuing teachings that place man at the center, and not The Will of the Creator.

This parable also indicates that all human beings will eventually recognize the futility of our wrong ways and wrong seeking and try to back pedal. But by then it would be too late. The Grail Message also confirms this interpretation.

Therefore, the lessons/warnings from this parable of Jesus are that:

1 ‐ We must first prepare ourselves inwardly and remain always prepared while we wait for the fulfillment of prophecy.

2 ‐ We cannot afford to wait until the fulfilment of prophecy is near to prepare ourselves.

3 ‐ It is our duty and responsibility to always keep the flame alive in us while waiting for fulfillment that will come in its own time, and according to the Will of The Creator

In other words we must come to the fulfillment changed and not to be changed.
