The rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence poses a significant threat to human spiritual growth by automating the decisions and experiences that foster maturity. As machines take over the consequential choices that define our lives, individuals risk becoming detached from the vital link between action and reaction. To counteract this technological alienation, society must intentionally restructure itself to prioritize meaningful human interaction and spiritual awareness. This transition requires mature leadership to ensure that efficiency does not come at the cost of the human soul. Ultimately, balancing technological convenience with a commitment to internal development is necessary to prevent a global decline in spiritual maturity.
The growing and rapid integration of AI into every aspect of human activity, raises fundamental questions about how these advancements will affect how we exercise our free will, and how we learn from the resulting consequences.
For one, as AI is increasingly used to select pathways, and to make decisions, it would not be wrong to see us becoming excluded from making decisions that today are handled by everyone of us, for ourselves. Also, as the assessment of the results of these decisions are taken over by AI, it would mean that humans would be even further removed from seeing the relationships between actions and reactions.
Thus, while the expanded use of sophisticated AI will result in faster and more efficient data processing, and responsive AI machines, machine learning cannot be directly transmuted into human learning or experiencing, except perhaps for the few who are intimately involved in the process.
This raises the critical question of what other avenues will we create for the generality of humanity, to interact with one another, in order to gain life experiences and to grow Spiritually.
At a minimum, this development cannot bode well for humans unless it is accompanied, or matched by an equally aggressive introduction of programs that will provide opportunities for continuing and expanded human interactions, aimed at Spiritual development.
Actually, this is not impossible. It simply requires a restructuring of human life in a way that properly integrates the convenience and efficiency of machines, balanced with activities that foster and lead to a higher sense of Spiritual awareness.
It could also be said that the growing alienation we are already experiencing in today’s modern societies, as much of the activities that once required human interaction are being taken over by mechanical systems, is a warning sign of what happens when technological development is pursued without regard for the need for balance with activities that foster Spiritual maturity.
Therefore, an AI future will require highly mature Spiritual leadership, to avoid a situation of an even less spiritually mature humanity than exists today.
Considering the chaos, confusion and dangers that the world already faces, through the activities of the present level of Spiritual maturity of mankind, the prospect of a further fall in maturity is too grave to contemplate.
Yet, realistically speaking, short of a global cataclysm, that brings down or destroys our current technological systems, it is difficult to see what will stem the tide of progression of AI expansion and adoption.
Nevertheless, the choice is still ultimately in the hands of our leaders, and us, the avid consumers of the conveniences offered by these technological developments.
